When I asked Chi to describe what she and Andy were planning for their wedding she used the words 'old glamour', 'timeless but non-traditional', 'English garden party meets British night club'; she told me she loved Brooklyn and Andy adored Manhattan. Westlight at The William Vale was their perfect setting - located in trendy Williamsburg with sweeping views of the New York City skyline.

With help from Stems Brooklyn, the rooftop at Westlight was transformed into Chi's dream garden - lush with stately floral arrangements and overgrown aisle markers.

The sun set over cocktail hour on the terrace. Guests were drawn into the glass lounge. The vibe: dim lighting, flashing colors, lively music, and a high-energy dance floor surrounded intimate seating areas; special VIP sections were reserved for parents and family members. It was the quintessential British night club experience, punctuated by cocktails served in tumbler-size disco balls.

Chi is a native of Zimbabwe. Her work focuses on social justice in the arts (I'm in awe). Andy is an author and professor of political science (I'm more out of my depth here). They share an excitement for literature, music, art, and culture; and, with the help of their planner - Kaitlin Donaldson of All the Best Moments - they found such unique and creative ways to incorporate these things into their wedding day. Watching their worlds come together was inspiring, and so much fun to photograph.

Thank you again to an amazing team!
